This hilarious and hands-on writing activity invites students to save a turkey from becoming Thanksgiving dinner by disguising it as something, anything! Students brainstorm ideas, decorate a turkey in disguise template, and finish the prompt:
“I am NOT a turkey! I’m clearly just a…”
Disguise the Turkey at Home or School
It’s creative, silly, and the perfect mix of art and writing. Surprisingly, even reluctant writers love this one! What’s more, there are so many fun ways to complete this project. Use the print and go templates in class or alternatively, let students go wild at home with their families! I guarantee you, parents will have just as much fun putting this turkey in disguise as their kids do!

1. First, print the turkey templates of your choice.

3. Then brainstorm ideas as a class.
